Aloha Friday

It really helps to be in a great mood and maintain a positive attitude. It goes a long way and people around you can feed off of it. Set the example and people will follow. Stay present in the now and forget about the past. Live for today and set goals that will help you tomorrow. We all want to live a long life and prosper and it all begins with a positive attitude. Just smile at random strangers and I am sure they will smile back. You could lift someone's spirits with a simple smile.

I was at CVS today and I met a gentleman who was complaining about the wait. He was in front of me in line and said he had been waiting for ten minutes. I just smiled, shrugged it off and said there are good things for those who wait. He smiled back and said you're right. And sure enough they called him about thirty seconds later. It is great to have patience in this world, it definitely pays off. Consistency and persistence work in your favor when you are working towards your goals. So stay positive and let the good times roll.

Aloha Thursday

Live and Learn...

I know there are plenty of mistakes we have made in our lives, but we always get a second chance. A chance to make things right. There are times when we feel down and out and depressed, its only a part of life. We are human beings and we are not flawless. We all have imperfections that we need to improve on, but that is what makes life so great. We need to continually improve on ourselves. Working on the positive and negative things that make us who we are. I strive for perfection all the time even though I am far from it. My main focus is my family and my music. I work hard at trying to be an all around great person. A person who gives and gets respect. Respect goes a long way in this world. It is important to respect your life and the people in it. People will always remember you for that. It is important to redeem yourself for your mistakes and end up the bigger person. There is no need to be clueless about the situation, just do what is right and you shall go far in life. Forgive those who hurt you and do your best to forget about it and move on with your life. It will take you a lot further then holding on to things forever. No one is perfect.

So make the best of every situation and make each moment in your life count. You deserve nothing but the best the world has to offer. So take advantage and don't take your life for granted. Life is too short to be wrapped up in the drama, so let the negative go and be the best you can be. With that said make it a great day there are a lot of beautiful things happening all around you. Take care.

Aloha Wednesday

Life is what you make of it. It can take you wherever you wish to go. That is what makes it so great. I believe we can all go to the places we desire. The world is a beautiful place and we all need to be grateful that we are alive. It could be a lot worse. I have ventured through the depths of hell and it wasn't a great feeling. It took a lot of courage and desire to pull myself out of the slump I was in to get where I am today. I have been in trouble with the law, I have been in jail, I have experimented with heavy drug use, I have seen a lot in my twenty eight years of life. But I realized I wasn't in a desirable place and changed my view point on life and turned things around. I feel great to be alive to see another day. There are many opportunities out there to make your life as positive as possible. We need a positive out look to help one another in these difficult times. I know it is difficult to find work and I know there are many things that can bring you down, but you must make the decision on whether you want to solve the problem or let the problems bring you down.

We are placed with decisions everyday to choose right from wrong. What will you do today that will make a difference tomorrow? Will you stand strong and overcome the obstacles or will you fall to the misconceptions of the devil? It is a choice we must make each and every moment we are alive and breathing. Do your best to stay positive and strong willed, I support you and I always will. I am in favor of hard work and perseverance because it will take you to the places you are trying to go. I believe in you and you should believe in yourself. Take care.

Aloha Tuesday

It is great to make new friends. Yesterday I went to Santa Barbara for a photo shoot. I met with Miles O' Sullivan a great photographer from Brooks Institute. We shot photos at a few different places around Santa Barbara. I most definitely had a great time. I had the opportunity to meet some of his friends and make new friends as well. Afterward we went to Isla Vista at UCSB to play music at this open mic night in the Rainbow house. It was an amazing experience. There were a lot of people that showed up, I was very impressed. There were a lot of talented musicians, poets and spoken word artists who all did a spectacular job performing. I played music as well and had a great response from the crowd. I'll tell you, it was very crowded. It turned out to be a very productive day.

It is always great to meet new people. You never know what will come out of the new friendships. Don't be a stranger in this world, you just never know who you may bump into. You can never have too many friends. It can only work in your benefit to be a friendly human being. There are too many beautiful people in this world who want to make new friends as well. So step up to the plate and make it happen. Have an open heart, and see where it takes you.

Aloha Friday

You want to make it somewhere in life, you better stay on your grind. It takes hard work, dedication and consistency if you want to be somebody. Whether it be great at raising a family, making a lasting impression at work, and/or striving for success in this world, you have to remain persistent. You need to constantly set goals for yourself. You never know what may happen when you reach for the stars. I never would have seen myself make it this far if I would have been slacking on my goals. I found the desire to make beautiful music and naturally it has been coming to me. I make sure I spend time each day improving. The only way to go is up from here. I firmly believe that when you aim high in life, it will definitely get you somewhere. Never give up, because you just never know how far you will go. Stay true to yourself and share the love with others, because you never know who you will inspire.

It is great to make an impact on others, because we all need role models to look up to. You never know who is paying attention to the details of your work. So it makes sense to aim for perfection and strive for the best results. Stay consistent on your grind and it will take you somewhere. With that said, make it a great day and shoot for the stars.

I went on my run today at my usual spot Back Bay, where there are various trails. It is filled with nature. There are rabbits, squirrels, lizards and all sorts of shrubs and wildlife. I enjoy it because it reminds me how much beauty life has to offer. It gives me a great opportunity to take it all in and get my mind right to start the day. It helps me find inspiration from all facets of life. I get a chance to let my mind wander and think about whatever I want. No interruptions or distractions, just me, my music and nature. I feel blessed to be alive and able to enjoy the things I am doing. It could be a lot worse. There are people suffering throughout the world and we cannot take our freedoms for granted. Life is a beautiful thing.

Take the time to enjoy the world around you, its a beautiful place. Wherever you are take a moment to take it all in. The fresh air in our lungs, the beautiful scenery and all the people. It makes a difference when you can acknowledge the beauty and overlook the mishaps. Why focus on the negative when there are so many positive things going on around you. There is so much to appreciate and it should not be taken for granted. Life is too short with too many beautiful things to offer. Make each day count.

I always find myself setting new goals, because I never seem to be satisfied with my results, I always want to do better. I am a detailed perfectionist when it comes to my work. I am often critical looking for the best result. I work hard at my goals to get to where I want to be. I consistently work on my music daily, writing new material, playing my guitar, perfecting my style and learning how to sing better. It never seems to fail, but it is what I feel I need to do to achieve success. I see myself as successful, but I feel there is so much further I need to be. Baby steps is what I am taking to achieve these goals, because creating music is a process. There are so many things going on behind the scenes in the music business, I think it is incredible. The opportunity to make new contacts and lasting friendships are amazing when it comes to the music. I have a very supportive team and we are all pushing for success.

It is very positive to set new goals for yourself, you never know where they can take you. We all strive for hard work and success. So whatever it is you do, don't ever give up. I believe in you and you should most definitely believe in yourself. Even when your back is against the wall, the only way to go is forward. You must stay positive and great things will come to you. I'll never forget where I started and I always look to where I am at today. Progress is a great thing no matter what the pace is. So keep your head up and strive for the best, you never know where the hard work will take you.

Make each day count. Each day is a blessing, one cannot take for granted. There were times when I lived without no care in the world. A time when I didn't care whether I lived or died. My life was spun outta control with heavy drug use. I abused my body with cocaine and ecstacy and lived for the moment never taking into consideration the people I may be hurting. I was on a quick downfall to hit rock bottom, which eventually landed me in jail. I had two DUI's and no place to live. Luckily my parents asked me to move back home to straighten out my life. It took awhile to pull myself out of the slump I was in. I was still partying out of control and really didn't get a clue until my parents kicked me out of their house. Thankfully my cousin took me in. I eventually found a great job and moved out to Newport Beach.

There is not a day that goes by where I regret a lot of the decisions I made. I honestly feel thankful just to be alive. There were times when I cheated death without a care in the world of the consequences. I hurt a lot of people, but I really hurt myself. I do my best to not live with the guilt and enjoy the brighter side of things. But sometimes the memories do haunt me. Music is what helped me save my life. The more I took it serious, the more professional I wanted to be. Life makes sense these days a lot more than it did back then. It is filled with ambition and goals and I am far from the person I once used to be. I am thankful for the beautiful people in my life that have stuck by my side through thick and thin. So I say this, make each day count, because we are all blessed with another day to breath and live our lives. Life is beautiful and should not be taken for granted. Make each day count.

Live and Learn

As I get older I realize how meaningful family and friends are to me. I was seldom a loner as a young child, always sticking to myself. I was resentful towards my family and really didn't have too many friends. I felt okay living life that way. But present day things have dramatically changed. I love my family and friends with the deepest compassion. They are there for me during times of need with open arms and complete support. I wasn't the kindest teenager, I lashed out especially during my early twenties getting in trouble with the law and eventually getting thrown in jail. It was an eye opening experience and I deeply felt I let a lot of people down.

No matter where you are at this time in your life, you gotta let your family and friends know you love them and appreciate the things they do for you. People do forgive you for your mistakes and its always great to get a second chance. I feel blessed to have these special people in my life and I am sure they feel same about me. Were there for one another during times of stress and complicated times that may arise. So make sure you let your loved ones know you love them and sincerely appreciate them for all they have done. Because in the end that's all you have are family and true friends. Stay true and God bless. Take care of yourself and don't forget to appreciate life.

We can make a difference in this world by our efforts. If we act in a positive manner we can impact the world piece by piece. The world is plagued by violence, crime and genocide. It takes ourselves to make a difference that counts. With my music I strive to make the world a better place. When someone tells me that my music has made an impact on them, it makes me feel great. Better than selling any records, because it all begins with the fans appreciating the music. If I can affect people in a positive way with my music, then you can impact the people by your efforts as well. It can be as minor as a simple smile that can brighten the day of someone. Kind words go a long way as well. You just never know who is paying attention at any given time.

We all must work together to ensure a positive future. We are the ones who can make a difference in this world. So start today, not tomorrow. Feel great about yourself, hold your head to the sky and keep on smiling. The world is a beautiful place with many things the creator has blessed us with to enjoy. The birds chirping, the smell of the flowers, the leaves on the trees, the rivers flowing with water, the sun shining, etc. There are too many things in life to not resist.
Go outside and make an impact on someone or something today, it would mean a lot to me, yourself and others around you. Trust me, it works.

Aloha Wednesday

Where are you at spiritually?

I recently had the chance to work on some music with the Torres-Martinez Tribe in the Coachella Valley. It was an amazing opportunity singing in the church of the Native Americans. We worked on two new songs that they will sing during worship. After the music session we all got into deep conversation with the Tribal Minister. I had the opportunity to express some personal things that I am battling with my mental health. They were all devastated to hear what I was going through, so we prayed. It was the deepest praying I had ever experienced, it lasted about ten minutes. I felt so rejoiced on the words and the meditation it brought to me. They blessed me on my musical journey with my Producer Ronnie King. I was so thankful, because upon meeting them I was a complete stranger and at the end we were all like best friends, like a brotherhood. I have been invited to the reservation with open arms and I feel proud of it. They are powerful people.

There are plenty of things we take for granted in this world. Many of us are lacking spiritual values and many of us are not. It is always best to take time to speak with our creator and pray. After all, God has created this beautiful place for us to live. I'll admit at times I have had my doubts, but my time with the Torres Martinez Tribe solidified my decision. It all made sense to me and I felt empowered after my blessings. We must take the time to appreciate the beauty of this world, the many exciting things it has to offer and all the talents and love we have been blessed with. It makes us who we are today. We are strong people and we must value that. With that said make sure you make it an appreciative day.

I feel rejuvenated, refreshed, reborn. I had a phenomenal time in Palm Springs recording new music. It felt great to go to work and get the music done. I have been writing so much lately, the ideas have been flowing. The guitar has been coming along quite well. It feels great to be inspired again and to be bringing great music for all my fans and supporters to listen to. When someone tells me how much my music inspires them, it is the greatest feeling. It makes me feel proud as a musician to be able to touch the lives of others with my music.

That is a key point, to touch the life of others. It feels great to know that we as individuals can have an impact on someone's life. So do your best to be an inspiring person, you just never know whose life your going to impact in a positive way. We need to serve as role models for one another. We all need people we can look up to. We all need an excellent support system as well. Combine those two things and we can all be living a joyful life, able to overcome the obstacles. With that said, make it a great day.

Back to the basics

Time for myself to be getting back to the basics. I have been playing guitar everyday, religiously. Working on writing phenomenal lyrics. Practicing my singing to improve my vocals. Running every morning to improve my conditioning. Writing everyday on my blog. Drinking my herbal teas. Focusing on my well being and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Overall keeping myself focused on the positive. I have a lot of things going on right now in my personal life and the only way to face these upcoming challenges is to stay positive.

There are many things that could easily knock me out of rhythm, but I choose to overlook the negative and see the best out of any situation. It is important to stay busy so there isn't too much time to focus on the negative things life chooses to throw at us. It can never be perfect, but we sure can make the best of it. We all make a choice when we handle situations and we can either have a bad attitude or a great attitude. I noticed I had been slipping, so it is best to put myself back in check and get back to the basics. It doesn't hurt to work hard at being a great person, because in actuality, the hard work makes it look easy. So hang in there, be patient and focus on the positive things life has to offer.
